How to make and preserve aloe vera gel

How to make and preserve aloe vera gel easily?

You can easily make this gel in 15 minutes. Either with the leaves of a plant you have in your own home. Either you can buy leaves from an organic shop.

Aloe vera is an extremely versatile balm. First and foremost, it is a moisturising gel for skin and hair. In addition, you can use this gel as a cream against sunburn and minor wounds. Moreover, you can also use aloe vera to soothe the digestive system.

How to make and preserve aloe vera gel?

Initially, it is important to inspect the aloe vera plant carefully:

  • Choose a strong and healthy plant.
  • And choose a thick and long leaf at the bottom of the plant.
  • Use a sharp knife to cut off the leaf as close to the stem as possible.

Then you can remove the gel:

  • To do this, cut the aloe vera into chunks.
  • Place the pieces in cold water.
  • A yellow liquid, aloin, may come out of the leaf. This is normal.
  • It is important to rinse off the yellow liquid completely as it is laxative. This takes about 10 minutes.
  • Next, you can harvest the gel.
  • Take a leaf and cut it in half.
  • Use a spoon or small spatula to extract the gel and put it in a clean bowl.
  • Mix the gel until it is liquid and there are no pieces. The gel is cloudy.
  • If desired, you can strain the gel to make it brighter.

Finally, it is best to store the aloe vera gel in the fridge or freeze it in small portions.
