Preparation and tasting: It is almost indispensable as an aperitif to surprise friends and guests. Caviar of artichoke & truffle 85g is highly recommended for an aperitif evening or a staff drink. It spreads easily on toast or lightly toasted slices of baguette! This delicacy is prepared with natural products only and contains no added flavourings.

OriginThe artichoke is of Mediterranean origin and was cultivated in Italy in the fifteenth century. It appeared in the Languedoc at the beginning of the sixteenth century, where its reputation as an aphrodisiac earned it success.
The purple artichoke first developed near Perpignan, which already had great know-how in irrigated cultivation. In the middle of the 19th century, the artichoke represented 40% of the agricultural areas.
The purple artichoke has established itself well in the small region of "Salanque" to the north of Roussillon. The artichoke is celebrated every year in a different village - also a chance to highlight the Catalan gastronomy and the many local products.
